No all QCS is basically to put your school in a ranking system. Why do you think school's care so much about what your OP you get. The op score does appear on your certificate but it doesn't do shit for your actuall OP.

yeh i got into uni but dropped engineering for business for more career options. but if i went for a rank it would have been equivalent to an op 3 times better than wat i got. i dunno the queensland system for that is fucked

Im thinking about getting out of drafting and doing something else like working in the mines. doing 8am (sometimes 7am) to 5pm with no overtime in an office staring at a computer all day is getting boring as. I wouldnt mind doing labouring at a mine site for a year or so. Doing 2 weeks on, then having a week cashed to the max to party would be sweet as. could also save for overseas missions easier.

im going to the mines as soon as i finish school. my brother did it and said was the funnest thing he's ever done. drive this tractor thing, sit around and watch people blow shit up, said it was good fun. and he saved SO much money for it. u get payed so much working in the mines its not funny. he said the only thing that gets to you is the people that u are working with. all the old fellas that have been working out there for too long are just hating life and shit. but he said u get a few young blokes like ya self out there which is good. but all possitives really. fun job, i like labouring aswell, good pay, good time off, and easy to save money. good way to save for a post school over sea's trip :)

I did 3 years of working part time and going to tafe which gave me enough time to surf 5 days a week. I was just getting by but its fcuked having no coin. At the moment I can surf on weekends cos I dont have time in the morning for a dawny (in winter). I see it being better working 2 weeks on, then having a full week to surf, party and can even do a few days road trip. I want more in life then to just get by. It sounds good doing what you want but its better being able to see the world and not live week to week

well my theory is everyone is striving towards being happy. People get mixed up because they want to sacrifice future happyness for having fun now. And some other people stuff it up by sacrificing too much now so they can be happy in the future. Then they look back and regret not having enough fun when they were young.

Its all about finding a equilibrium, sacrifice enough now to set yourself up later, but still have enough fun now that you dont regret it.

For me, my happyness is being retired and having a pimp house with a sick wife and kids on the mountains next to a wedge and a couple of reefs.

But to get that I need cash. If I could retire today I would.

So I sacrfice surfing time, a nice car and money I could be making doing labouring etc. And substitute it for uni and a low paying marketing/advertising job in the city to prepare me to network and start my way up the ladder. In hope that in the future I will be set up enough to do what I want.

In saying that though, i surf 2 or 3 times a week. So im not complaining.

When you say that you just get by do you mean that by the end of the week you pouring dregs into a glass so you get a full beer and reduced to mixing water and flour for food? or have you got enough coinage to buy clothes, piss and all that other shit when you want, within reason of course?

I just have one wish to live on burleigh heads hill in one of those units, im not going to stop working till it happens. that would be sick livin there. you can always surf early mornings even if you work. i get an hour and a half before work in winter and close to 3 in summer and then after work. You gotta have money to make money. Just getting by is Bullshit, it's good to get up in the mornings with purpose

exbuno, yup still live at home. But I work from here I have my own ebay store I sell hurley, volcom, von dutch, metal mulisha, west coast chopper and fox clothing. Aswell as that I get the contract to do a website once a month, but I do that from home also choose my own hours. Ill do most of it at night time.

Well back on the topic..and today QCS was totally crap. First the short response had no good pictures to write about and second the multiple choice was so bloody hard it wasnt funny! some was easy, but the ones that wernt they made a good job if making fucking hard. Saw a picture of a boat in the short response and the theme was discovery...so what more could i do but write about a booger boat trip and discovering a new seceret reef :D not looking foward to the rest of it tomorrow though hey..
