Hello to all of ya! I am planning on a surfing trip all the way down the coast from Brisbane at the beginning of Jan 04. Guess it will be a trip of at least 2-3 weeks (-->Sydney, Melbourne and back).
I got wagon and roofracks and full camping equipment. Anybody wants to join me on the trip?
If so, gimme a buzz: 0424025091 or kauhikoa@web.de
Hope to hear from you....there is room for 2 more people

Hey slicktrigger,
why use an axe if i can do the same trick with a heavy longboard?
but by the time youll get it swinging at him he wouldve already poked your eye out with his little 6 " fish

The hard part is when you have a time constraint. There are just so many good breaks between the Goldy and Melbourne. You pull into some time forgotten country town, and the place is going off it's tits, and the best part is that there is usually no crowds. Obviously, no one is going anywhere till Huey decides play time is over.

yeah mate all to do with the swell. pretty hard unless you got a fair wack of coin for a 2-3 month trip so you can wait at a good spot for some swell to hit. also have you seen the fuel prices?? a bali trip for 2 weeks would almost be cheaper and guaranteed waves..

I have done a few trips south that have been for a week to 10 days duration. Sometimes we scored others ended up being recon missions that always seem to yeild data for the memory banks for the next trip.
Bris to Melbs and back would be an epic trip, I think i'd do it a few times and focus on different spots each trip rather than doinng it all in the one massive round journey. It does get a bit boring after a while..

yeah i know i know, surfing can be a game of luck when it comes to road trips..........going to known places like indo, hawaii in their respective seasons eliminates that chance somewhat..........although shit i'd love to just pull up to half a dozen breaks down the coast that i've never seen or heard of and just have all time ozzie break sessions

i've done two 5 week east coast trips to the vicco border and back. you don't need much dosh if your willing to eat baked beans on public bbq's and pitch tents illegally eg truck stops, camping grounds that you leave at dawn without paying, dog off-leash areas where we later found out raging homos frequent etc. nsw south coast has epic waves
