I'm just jealous. There's nothing like a good surf safari to put a smile on ya face. Got any more pics?

That last pic of the righthander looks awesome. That wave looks like such fun and whackable. Reminds me of Cokes at the Maldives actually in terms of the take off etc.

yeh was only there one week. we got to surf 4 different break two lefts and two rights. only one morning didn't get a surf because it was blown out so just did a tour down the main land. will def be goin back next yr but for two weeks. it is a really beautiful place. good snorkelin and fishin.. smallest fish caught for the week was a 10kgspanish mac. one of the blokes caught a 22kg mangrove jack. so even if the surf doens't come through heaps of other stuff to do. lucky for us we were able to get two or three sessions in every day.

Short answer: yes, but fek me there are so many things to consider in the wet season... lack of crowds is becoming a high priority. we probably had better waves here on the coast than webby did while he was away, but he had super fun glassy perfection with himself and a couple of other ppl, while we battled the hordes on the points...

St Matthias would have to be a better option for consistent waves... so many days in that region would be perfect conditions, but just not enough swell getting into where the setups are. Chatting to a few ppl at Nusa it would seem that St M's setups are 2-3x as big on the same swell as waves around Kavieng.

FYI, its $3935 per person inc. airfaires ex. Brisbane for a 9 day charter (about 8 days surfing), compared to about $2400 for 9 days in the Nusa island camp (about 7 days surfing)...

The ASL DVD got me amped up for PNG coz I think a bit of the footage is from the Kavieng area (so I've been told), but the majority is that sick left in St M's...
